A Spa Diva’s Dream: The ISPA Trade Show Floor

The International Spa Association’s (ISPA) annual conference is the time that spa product companies debut what’s new to the spa industry. I had the opportunity to attend the conference and explore the trade expo floor to find my favorite new spa products for the year.

LaFlore

Favorite New Spa Products of the YearProbiotics are all the rage in the supplement world and now they’re making a breakthrough in skincare. LaFlore uses probiotic technology to protect the skin’s natural protective barrier from toxins and other products we put on our face that mess up our body’s natural flora. The line includes a 3-step program featuring a cleanser, moisturizer and serum. The products work in conjunction with each other to increase cellular oxygenation, collagen and elastin. The probiotic ingredients are also shown to help treat problems ranging from acne to eczema and psoriasis.

Blinc

Favorite Spa Products of the YearI am on a seemingly never-ending quest for eyeliner that doesn’t run and mascara that doesn’t smudge. When I walk past the Blinc booth and see a sign promising products that are better than waterproof, I have to know more. I get a rundown on the eyeliner, mascara and eyebrow pencils in the line and a liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner and mascara to try. So far I am impressed. The liquid liner didn’t smudge all day, but required a steadier hand to put on than I possess. The pencil liner didn’t hold up as well, but is better than any other pencil I have tried. The mascara uses something called tubing, which means the mascara forms small water resistant “tubes” around each lash. The product is buildable to increase the va-va-va-voom factor of your lashes.

The Pillowcase

Favorite Spa Products of the YearI don’t know about you, but I hate waking up with sleep marks on my face so when I saw The Pillowcase by Circadia by Dr. Pugliese I was intrigued. This moisturizing pillowcase is designed to prevent the dreaded sleep wrinkles. Sleep wrinkles happen because your face is pressed against a wrinkled fabric that actually promotes skin’s water loss. The Pillowcase was created by a doctor using a fabric that doesn’t wrinkle, or whisk moisture away from the skin. So far after a week of using it, I have yet to have one sleep wrinkle.

NeuHAIR

Favorite Spa Products of the YearAny woman knows that a bad hair day can mean a bad day in general. When you’re experiencing lack-luster hair or thinning hair it’s psychologically a big deal. Skin Research Labs debuted neuHAIR, a proprietary formula that promises the appearance of stronger, thicker, fuller hair in 8 weeks. The product is a leave-in foam designed to deliver nutrients to the hair and scalp that combat hair issues caused by stress, diet, aging, and over styling. Each bottle should last for three months.

Chaleur

Favorite Spa Products of the YearA unique twist on home skin care with self-heating technology. The idea is that the heat helps deliver the products ingredients to the deepest layers of the skin. The Chaleur line consists of a heat mask and a gel that are designed to reduce 20 signs of aging on face, hands and feet in three treatments or less.

Mix-o-logie

Favorite Spa Products of the YearThe fun perfume blending bar set-up pulled me into the Mix-o-logie booth. By using a variety of rollerball perfumes of basic scents ranging from citrus to vanilla, consumers can layer scents to create their own unique, signature scent. There are also fun recipes to follow like “On The Rocks” which is the fragrance to wear when your “life plan isn’t aligning” or when your “relationship isn’t what it used to be.” I begin to douse myself with this formula!
